Cuiganglinchang Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Cuigang Township, Xinlin area, Tahe District, Heilongjiang. It was named by Sun Shangmo in 1983.
Lithology and Thickness
Claystone and Limestone. The formation is composed of a suite of carbonate rocks and clastic rocks of the neritic shelf facies, locally epi-metamorphosed. Lower part is dominated by siliceous rock, siliceous bioclast-bearing clayey mudstone, and slate with limestone lenses. Middle part consists of bioclastic tuffaceous and clayey slates. Upper part, of silty and clayey slates, micritic limestone and banded marble. It is 584.4 m at the type section, and over 1645 m thick in the Daxigou Forest Farm in central Humahe District.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Unconformable over the Middle Devonian Gagala Fm at the naming locality. Regionally, the next older unit is the Beixing Fm volcaniclastics overlying uppermost Devonian Qilikashan Fm, and age of upper Beixing Fm overlaps lower part of this Cuiganglinchang Fm.
Upper contact
Uncertain: the top boundary is not clear at the naming locality. Next younger regional unit is the volcanics of Xinghuo Fm.
Regional extent
Mainly distributed in areas such as the central Humahe District, the Daxigou Forest Farm and the Cuigang Forest Farm of the Xinlin area

Fossils
Brachiopods Schuchertella cf. ovata, Krotovia spinulosa, Striatifera sp., Fusella sp., Brachythyrina sp., Syringothyris sp., Pseudosyrinx sp., Torynifer microspinosus, T. pseudolineatus, Neospirifer chronici, Rotaia sibirica, etc.

Depositional setting
It is interpreted as a neritic shelf facies.
